about image

A recent graduate of the University of Cumbria, I achieved a degree in Contemporary Applied Arts, where I specialised in print.

As a print/ textiles designer the driving focus of my work is on the imperfections and irregularities of the subject matter, as this provides me with the most interest and inspiration. Much of my work is developed from photography, altering scales, layering textures and generating colour palettes to capture a mood or theme.

I look at the structure and linear qualities of natural forms, often using digital manipulation techniques to create shadowed forms that compliment bold silhouettes. My passion lies in using traditional methods of screen-printing and hand dying techniques. Dip dying fabrics offers the opportunity to create a range of unseen colour that directs the outcome of designs. Research, development and application are of equal importance to me in the transition from concept to final design.

I like to keep an open-mind and welcome all project challenges. Every project is a unique and personal process, I love what I do and hope this is demonstrated in my work.
